Missing the colors

Foto: A walk in the park. By German Murillo ©

Today snowed for the first time this season, a chilly day, not that cold though. An overcast day with very flat, dull gray tones and a heavy layer of fog hiding the Rockies. A beautiful light for intimate shots, soft shadows on portraits, evocative landscapes or even some not that photogenic aguardiente shots.

This is the first day but it seems to me that those colorful, warm cozy afternoons filled with hot hues and harmonic yellow and green palettes and leaves falling from heaven have gone long time ago. But the photo of my wife sitting in the perfect spot was taken just five days ago, one of those moments in life I'll never forget.

Well, now is the time to get ready for the new season, that time of the year when I don't have to spend that much money buying color cartridges for my printer, the time of shooting on the snow.
